Master Biology: Application and admission
Overview:
Application form
Please inquire about the general information about the degree program. The procedure is governed by the Admission Regulations Master Biology (pdf) regulated. Applications are made centrally via the KIT applicant portal. A total of 60 Master's places are available each year. Please follow the instructions of the application portal exactly and submit the documents with all required certificates.
Important: If you do not yet have a completed Bachelor's degree, you can participate in the procedure with the average grade achieved up to that point according to the university allocation regulations, but you must then enclose a certificate of the average grade achieved (preferably clearly marked) and the credit points earned up to that point. Incomplete documents (e.g. a missing average grade, in the case of a Bachelor's degree not yet completed) will lead to exclusion from the procedure.
The submission deadline is July 15 for the winter semester and January 15 for the summer semester.
Please pay close attention to and follow the information in the application portal.
Selection and admission interviews
Selection and admission interviews are held in the week after the application deadline.interviews.
Upcoming dates for the selection and admission interviews:

For the Master's degree program in Biology, you need sufficient knowledge of German or English. Your knowledge of German must correspond to level C1, your knowledge of English at least to level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The recognized language tests can be found in the current admission and matriculation regulations of KIT.
Foreign applicants who live in Germany take part in the regular selection interviews.
Applicants living abroad are offered a questionnaire by e-mail. You will receive a form to complete by e-mail in the week after the application deadline. We ask applicants to be available by e-mail during this time.
De-registration and enrollment
You may submit credits from the Bachelor's degree program up to 6 weeks after the start of lectures. If you have not yet completed your Bachelor's degree at the start of your application, we recommend that you re-register for the next Bachelor's semester. If you then receive a Master's place and have completed your Bachelor's degree in time, you can "re-register", i.e. you only have to pay the semester fee once.
You must exmatriculate properly in order to enrol.
